My feeling is they’re gonna have to eventually scale back and find entertaiment in something other t han the stunning vistas and shots of the cars. Apparently they have a non-compete agreement with Top Gear that prevents them from doing cheap car challenges, unfortunately.

Yeah, but did you notice they didn’t actually focus on the cars? No reviewing, no budget, no “use what you didn’t spend to modify it”, and they weren’t challenges trying to justify their pur chases so much as just g oofing off.

I really doubt the paucity of cheap cars have anything to do with copyright and contracts. I imagine it’s just the preference of someone on the team. And there have been some pretty shitty vehicles on this season.
